As a company that specialises in shredding services, it’s no surprise that we accumulate quite a lot of paper waste! Of course, as an ethical shredding provider, we feel it’s our duty to recycle this waste in order to help the environment. Yet, some companies have concerns about how we can recycle such sensitive and confidential materials. Allow us to explain and put your minds at rest…
Approximately 49% of the nation’s annual recycling comes from the secure shredding facility. If we didn’t recycle, that’d be quite a lot of waste making it into your local landfills and damaging the environment. When using a trusted shredding company, recycling is both secure and environmentally friendly; a win-win situation.
Furthermore, traditional confidential waste disposal could lead to your documents and data being intercepted and reconstructed. Recycling is actually the safest method.
Whether you opt for on-site or off-site shredding, your documents are in safe hand from beginning to end with us. Your paperwork will be finely shredded to make it virtually impossible for anyone to access any data almost straightaway. Plus, everything we shred is baled together before being recycled. So throughout the shredding journey, you can be confident in the security of your personal data and rest assured that it will be disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner. We’ll also issue you with a certificate of destruction that proves your information has been destroyed to BS EN15713:2009 security shredding standard.
Once shredded, the paper waste will be taken to an approved recycling centre where it’s soaked in soapy water to remove any ink or glue residue. It’ll then be reduced into a mashed ‘slurry’ along with masses of other waste that’s arrived at the centre. At this point, it’s fair to say that your documents are completely undistinguishable! It’ll then be used to make new paper and card.
